First Eye Retrieval Center in Cagayan Valley, Successfully Inaugurated!

Through the dynamic and supportive leadership of Cagayan Valley Medical Center, the Eye Bank Foundation of the Philippines inaugurated its first-ever eye retrieval center in Region 2 – Cagayan Valley earlier this day, 25 November 2019.

Eye Bank’s President and CEO, Dr. Minguita Padilla, together with CVMC Medical Center Chief Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao, led the signing of Memorandum of Agreement at CVMC, Tuguegarao City. Representatives from government agencies in the region such as Land Transportation Office, DOH, and Tuguegarao Senior Citizens’ Association were also present at the activity.

The Cagayan Valley Medical Center is the largest medical facility in the Cagayan Valley Region. It is expected that through this historic forging of partnership, the yield for transplantable eye tissues will increase for the benefit of corneally-blind patients in the region and the whole country.

This is the 4th satellite retrieval center of Eye Bank in Northern Luzon after opening several others in Region 1, Region 3, and Cordillera Administrative Region. #PartnersInSight #EyeBankPH
