Eye Bank’s Advocacy in Marikina City: Making the Shoe Capital Partner In Sight

MARIKINA CITY — Hospital administrators, doctors, chiefs, and nurse supervisors of Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center (ARMMC) have gathered yesterday, August 22, 2019, during the hospital’s first ever coordination awareness forum on cornea and eye donation.

In line with the celebration of Sight Saving Month and the on-going partnership between the Eye Bank Foundation and ARMMC, the participants were equipped with relevant knowledge about Eye Banking in the Philippines and how ARMMC can help in increasing the yield for transplantable corneas nationwide.

Composing the Eye Bank’s delegation were Ms. Reina Orfinada, R.N., Senior Procurement Transplant Coordinator, Mr. Elijah San Fernando, Community Relations Officer, and Ms. May McCremens, Transplant Coordinator of Eye Bank Foundation.

The ARMMC personnel have expressed their full support and participation in Eye Bank’s advocacy.

A follow-up activity on guides and methods in approaching possible donor families is expected to be conducted any time soon.
