Eye Bank’s Advocacy Continues!

Even in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic, Eye Bank’s advocacy continues!

Last October 07, 2020, the Eye Bank Foundation and partner satellite retrieval center Ilocos Training Regional Medical Center held its 1st Webinar on Eye and Tissue Donation Process.

Dr. Richmond Siazon, ITRMC’s Department of Ophthalmology Head, gave the opening remarks for the participants which include doctors, nurses, social workers, and security personnel of the hospital.

Eye Bank’s Procurement Transplant Coordinator, Ms. Maureen G. McCremens discussed the brief history of Eye Bank and Frequently Asked Questions on Eye and Tissue Donation.

Following this, Ms. Giselle D. Santos, R.N., Eye Bank’s Procurement Transplant Coordinator and Technician, guided the participants in the referral process on corneal and eye tissue donation.

Eye Bank’s Manager, Ms. Ellen Lagan, R.N., led the question and answer for the participating ITRMC medical and non-medical staff.

The webinar was made possible with the help of Allergan Plc’s digital platform through its representative Mr. Michael Dela Cruz.

The Eye Bank Foundation and ITRMC remain to be strong #PartnersInSight since October 11, 2018. Even in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic, Eye Bank remains committed in its advocacy of cornea and eye tissue donation. #EyeBankPH25
