Eye Bank Starts Partnership with Laguna Provincial Hospitals

The Eye Bank Foundation paid a courtesy meeting with Laguna Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bagamasbad, together with Laguna hospital chiefs and district heads yesterday, July 26, 2019.

Eye Bank’s president and CEO, Dr. Minguita Padilla, explained what Eye Bank Foundation is all about and how it operates nationwide.

She discussed the severe scarcity of transplantable corneas and eye tissues and highlighted the need of cornea and eye donation in the country.

Dr. Padilla also gave importance on the role of hospitals, government and private-run alike, in addressing this problem.

Dr. Bagamasbad together with the chiefs of hospitals expressed their full support in Eye Bank’s advocacy and committed to forge partnership with Eye Bank.

Dr. Minguita Padilla’s policy thrust is to strengthen Eye Bank’s hospital retrieval program and volunteer donation.

In this light, intensive and extensive network/partnership building, as well as awareness campaign is being done all throughout the country.
